WHAT we do… TriageNow guides injured employees to the appropriate level of care for a workplace injury, and provide all documentation to help ensure all parties are notified of this incident within moments of occurrence.
OUR VISION… Is to continually improve ourselves, our company, and the solutions we provide our clients. Having built our own software platform in today’s technology, we are able to adapt and innovate to better serve our clients. We looked at the industry as a whole, and started from the point of improving things from the standard way of operating to something much better. We strive to be the industry leader in customer service and end-user experience through our relentless pursuit of new and better technology solutions.
Mindful Insurance Solutions, has secured these services through a team of advocates through CHSI Technologies. We have added Concierge Services to our clients based on claims, size, premium and carrier. This service provides a follow up to the employee after the initial claim to make sure that the services were performed by the adjuster and TriageNow. In addition, these services have proven to eliminate or reduce litigation due to the High-Touch response to the employee and employer.
The services also include claims review and close-out. Typically an adjuster has between 135-160 cases and are not able to provide the monitoring level that is necessary to monitor the services that need to be delivered to the employee.
The IIPP is one area that can be overlooked easily and Cal-OSHA fines can be vary punitive to employers. The Unified Brokers Insurance Agency, Inc examines our clients IIPP for compliance, and if necessary will recommend to overhaul it to be in compliance with Cal-OSHA.
Mindful Insurance Solutions, contracts with a specialized firm for this compliance.
If your business is eligible for experience rating, its experience modification is calculated by comparing the actual losses to the expected losses.
Actual losses are the medical and indemnity claim costs resulting from a work-related injury, that an insurance company has paid or expects to pay in the future.
Expected losses represent a business’s projected losses for the industry in which it operates. In other words, given its classifications and payroll, its expected losses represent the statistical average losses that a business of a similar size in the same industry is expected to incur.
Given two businesses within the same industry, the larger the business, in terms of payroll, the more losses that business is expected to incur.
Experience Modification = Actual Losses / Expected Losses
Data, including losses and payroll by classification, resulting from every workers’ compensation insurance policy written in California is reported to the WCIRB in a Unit Statistical Report (USR). These reports, submitted by your insurance company, are the source of the data used by the WCIRB to administer the Experience Rating System and to publish experience modifications.
Mindful Insurance Serves is present, when needed, for the annual worker’s compensation audit. We have found in past years, that the audit conducted by the auditors may not specialized in the employer’s type of business or business sector and therefore do not understand some of the complexities of the Workers’ Compensation Class Codes.
Our job has been, and continues to be a support to clarify class codes and help our clients prepare for the audit. Every year, we have experienced that Workers’ Compensation auditors make some mistakes that we advocate, or step in, on behalf of our clients.
Six months into the policy period a unit stat report is given to the clients that qualify. This is a review process in which claims services have been utilized in closing claims and the status of each claim. The unit stat report may vary depending on the needs and size of client.
In summary of the types of claims, causes and preventable. Summary data is shared with the clients Safety Committee to help direct what type of loss control services should be introduced and monitored.
In coordination with the insurance carrier who provides loss control resources we connect the designated person at each client who is responsible for Loss Control with this resource while laying out a training plan for the year that is in conjunction with the Injury Illness Prevention Program (IIPP). Some additional trainings maybe sought outside of the loss control services, such as, driving training. One area that is a fine by Cal-OHSA that is overlook is the checking of the fire extinguishers. We believe because of the annual review and topic this is being checked monthly as required by Cal-OHSA.
On-going support to the clients Safety Training Committee and the initial structure, topics, and resources is reviewed and our participation is determined by the client’s needs. In person, quarterly meetings and more if needed and/or the set-up structure to monitor all activity in compliance with CAL-OHSA.
Rewards programs and annual recognition of Safety Committee members is highly recommended as it involves key staff from the client and encourages participation in Safety of the organization.
